Welcome. What's PAU?
Never a problem. Although in a PAU the subframe likely didn't have to move. In my Bonne I barely had to wiggle the header to get it in place w/o touching the subframe. I imagine the PA was similar.
If you are looking to put more power to it and don't want the back to drag like a W body.. look into drag bags. I think the PA had availability.
Thats awesome. Looks like I know what I'll be doing after I get my fender fixedI did it in my Bonne to keep down the weight transfer after seeing a vid driving of me slapping the throttle and the rear bumper nearly touching the ground. It was awesome for keeping me moving instead of spinning. I took a nearly 2 hour drive to a meet with a transmission (160-200lbs), tons of exhaust manifolds, intake manifolds, superchargers etc.. filled the Bonne trunk and back seat. Pumped up the bags....the car had a nice rake to it. No one at the meet believed all that stuff was in the car.
For the W body guys that have heard of my car..here's what I'm talking about.
BTW, I took the liberty of checking Summit for your car. Here ya go.

Best part is it doesn't compromise ride quality.
The stock compressor is low volume, high pressure. This would use very little pressure and a slightly higher volume.
what I did was drill another hole in the panel in my trunk where the fill valve and off/on switch for the stock compressor was sitting. I found that I needed to fill/deflate it so infrequently that I'd etiher do it off my home compressor or run the hose from the trunk fill valve of the stock compressor to the bag fill valve. You do have a fill valve in the trunk and a hose to do tirres etc, right?
On that trip with the transmission etc in teh trunk. I filled to the max 35psi and when I arrived (still raked) I let air out to allow us to lift the stuff out easier. Then filled to the proper level that I'd want. These things are very easy to install as well. You squeeze the bags and cap them per the instructions..they slide into the spring and you hook up the hoses, route the hoses to a T and then to the fill valve.
