• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

organizational ideas

DUI BABY
i have been noticing that we have a lot of stickies that seem to be taking up a good amount of space at the top of a few sections. i'd like to do some reorganizing and hope to move things around enough and clean this up to make it a little less cluttered.

that being said, any ideas on how to effectively do this?

i was thinking that i'd make a sub section underneath sections with lots of stickies and put all of the stickies there. it'd be at the top of the section still, but all those 'important' threads would be one more layer down.

all for this idea so a person doesnt have to scroll half way down the page to find current thread.

I think the sticky subsection at the top would be nice.

Do you have the ability to create new sections/sub forums?

If so, maybe we could have a locked how to section for stickies only.

I think that would lump everything together and be harder to dig through.
sub section for the proper specific section would be better and less messy I think.

i have the ability to create/delete/move sections, including sub sections of sub sections. i've added sections before.

if we had one area for stickies it'd be kinda muddy and you'd have to sift through what each thread is to find the one you want. see: the how-to section.

if at the top of each section there's a link to another sub section with just stickies it'd be nice. however, i'd hope that you wouldn't scroll right past it and never notice it. on the main page there is a "sub section" list underneath and that's usually the most direct route. however, if you're in the section, it's way up at the top separate from the populated threads of that section (see: engine/transmissions sections).

I think that would be great. Leave each sticky in its current section just have a subsection called stickies.
