• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Opinions...?

Eh, I just don't know if I'm feeling the 200, just don't really like the body styling of it. Idk, maybe it's just me.

No prob, just tryin to help.

Lol, thanks. Didn't mean to sound like an asshole..:(

Well the reason I'm asking about this is that I'm gonna be working hella overtime during my winterbreak and whatever money I make is going to be spent on me, myself, and I (I never spend money, just fking save it all).

So here is the other question, if you guys were in my shoes, what would you do?

1.Full exhaust revamp on the GXP
2.Bike
3.Project/turbo fun car

Open to other suggestions as well lol.

In all honesty...if you don't know quite what you want yet...throw a little more money at the GXP and make a little faster.

Then, when you settle in and find the exact platform your looking for...save some coin and buy it.

That sounds very solid.

Can't hurt to be patient. And also can't hurt to keep looking.

FWIW, not sure what is done to your GXP...but a catback, Doug Thorley headers, K&N CAI, Custom HP Tuners PCM Tune and some lowering work...would make for a way better car.

I would love to do the Thorley headers, but damn they are expensive.

Other than that I was planning on a Magnaflow catback, the CAI, was supposed to get a tune from GeosMP at the dells meet but he didn't show up :( (long drive from Michigan, I understand) and I was gonna definitely lower it.

Other than that, when I was talking about exhaust work I was REALLY looking at a exhaust cutout from PFYC and a 3" Hogan DP. I have heard that setup and it is SEXY on a GXP.

My buddy has headers and the cutout...it sounds quite nasty I might say. I ran him the other night...needless to say...it was brutal. Just an FYI for BGG, Cableguy, and whoever else praises the GXP for not running slow, etc...this GXP was dyno tuned, headers, CAI, shift kit, poly mounts, cutout...I put about 2-3 cars on him from a 60-100...and he got the jump because of "TAPSHIFT" oooooooooooo.

Anyways, sorry, got sidetracked. Does it make sense though, you can get headers for less than the price of what you were gonna spend on that project car...just sayin...

if im not mistaken there are a few gxp guys on ls1tech that are swapping ls6 heads on the ls4 and doing away with the dod. idk if i was misinformed but that would make the ls4 a little more formidable considering a cam and ls6 heads.

The problem with the LS4 is the intake...and the DOD cam...its less than .500 on the intake and exhaust...which isn't much to gawk at since LS1 guys are going .700 lift and that ain't even that big.

There are a lot of things wrong with the ls4..

Anyways, you make a good point with the headers (didn't see your comment before), problem is, how the hell do I put them on? I don't have a shop or anything at my expense. Just the service department at the dealership.

I'm bumping the hell out of my own thread but I have a dilemma here.

Anyone know of any cars being sold in the Chicago area? I'm running out of options as I've been on craigslist everyday and can't seem to luck out on anything.

Have to be below 2k and manual. Don't care about mileage or anything. 240's anyone? :D

Loll. I love me some s13's. Come on how can you deny this:

:D

Still let me know if theres anything around the Mil area. Haha.

I (as many others have suggested) would go with an affordable car with a small block V8 swapped in it.

MR2s are a pain in the ass...kinda fun to drive stock, but a ***** to work on. Look into older RX7s (not fds) or 240 or 280 z cars. Also look into the newer 240s for a swap...or you could always go the LSx route.

Fox body Mustangs and 78-87 Malibus are some of my favorite go-fast-for-cheap cars. You can't go wrong being able to build a 350+hp SBC for a little over a grand.
