• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Opinions...?

A RWD Civic? WTF. That's like living in Africa with no aids.

As for my RB swap? Well...my GTP works...so no RB swap yet.

Right now I'm really feelin' a clean older eclipse (1G), RX7 (ls1 swap of course ;D), or a clean Si Hatch, hmm...

Edit: Definitely want turbo if at all possible. Only ever driven one turbo car, a ****ing Saab 93 Vert from the dealership....

Then a boosted old sex7 is right for you ;)

btw...where the hell is oak grove village...I was gonna try and help your CL search or something...but I didn't know where to look...

70s throw a small block in it and go.

the only way your gonna get a cheap easy fast and reliable vehicle is to get a s10 and swap a v8 in there. or do what i believe someone here is doing and swap a l67 in there. then you can have a 3000lb truck with 400+ hp and a manual tranny and its rwd:th_jester:

You can't have all 3...cheap, fast, or reliable...you can only have 2. Name me some vehicles that are all 3...because I doubt there is one.

yes u can thats why i suggested the s10. its prolly not average but i know of a few rednecks around here puttin down low 12 high 11 numbers with their s10 trucks. one of them has only put about 5k in the whole build. thats cheap imo and the fact that hes got about 200k on the truck and 80k on the motor id say thats reliable. of course he may have nit picked a ton of crap but still id like to have a 12sec car for 5k

Yeah I've been in one, owned one too (fwd import, not honda). OP said he is looking for something he can learn on, and something in the 2000 dollar range. Let's be honest, his options are loaded with FWD imports. I'm not saying it's the best platform by any means, but it may be his best option. My turbo 420a eclipse ran low 13's. Nothing to write home about, but for the little amount money that went into it, it wasnt bad. Of course it sounded, road, and looked like ****, but that's a different story.

so wait, are we wanting a learner car or a fix 'er up and mod it car?

****, buy anything for $500 thats manual. drive the crap out of it. manual in anything makes it 100 times more fun.

I have an 07 GXP as my signature may suggest. Problem is (long story) I can't really do much to it. Now I really want some kind of cheap, older, manual, (preferably JDM and RWD rx7, mr2, 240sx, etc... :th_nervous:) car that I can learn on.

Maybe I misunderstood the OP?:th_shrugshoulders:

Eh, I don't know, a mixture of both I guess? Something I can **** around in on weekends, but learn and mod on my days off.

Right now, reallly feeling S4 turboed rx7. Generally pretty cheap only if na, thats the problem...

Or 240 if I can find the right one. Civic hatch is still an option too. And would love to find a mr2 turbo, but thats highly unlikely...

If you are looking at an MR2 why not look at a Fiero?

My vote goes for an AWD 1g eclipse/talon or a 5.0 mustang.

Cheap, cheap to mod, and they look fun as hell. Third option is an EG hatch and just strip it/motor swap.
