what do you think of the contrasting hood ? Just looking for a paint scheme out of the ordinary

There must be some type of clear or gel coat on the carbon already, no? It seems if you were to do red with the carbon scoops, you would clear the entire thing anyway...

Yup but still a weak gel coat at that.. Look at 99% of cf hoods that fail they look like pure poop when they do.

Thanks guys. Think I'll do the scoops dark grey stay with the red. Scoops are a small enough area I can change it if I don't like it.

Clear over the entire hood. Then you can have your cake (carbon fiber) and eat it too
