open cone

So i just put an open cone at the end of my t.b. today. I have a 98 gtp just f.y.i. I realize i get no performance increase from this i just like the louder supercharger note. My question is regarding the sensor that used to be connected on the stock tubing. I am not sure what it is think i have herd it called the iat i think its probably for monitoring air intake temps but could be wrong. Anyways, right now i just have it disconnected and secured down so it isnt bouncing around. Is this going to cause any serious problems? I have not thrown any codes yet, i guess it could be pulling spark which probably wouldnt be ideal. Just could use some advice. thanxs

leave the sensor connected to the plug like mini said and tie it up somewhere around the cone so it reads somewhat of what the cone is pulling in.

Or if it worries you that much you can get a rubber fitting inbetween the TB and filter and drill a hole for the IAT sensor and stick it in there...its your call

i have got it plugged back in and zip tied so that it is right next to the cone on the firewall side. I dont think i could drill a hole because i dont think their is a large enough gap between the end of the TB the cone to fit the iat so i will probably just stick with this set up since u guys said it should have no negative effects

you should go buy a small extension for it and put it in! also the reason ur not noticing any performance is its sucking hot air cuz its so close to the engine so ur probably loosing performance
