Only getting 80-90% boost

Long story short... and 3,850$ later I got a new engine put in with 71k factory miles. My supercharger, according to the dealership checked out ok. Now to me it seems no matter what kind of incline I'm on, going WOT gets me about 90% boost on the stock gague. It won't go full boost til I reach about 4k-4.5k rpms. Even then, it struggles to reach those last two bars by flickering real fast then lighting up solid.

Before this mess, no matter what I was doing, WOT would pull me into my seat. Now its not as much of a instant surprise. Any ideas?

Things always run the bes right before they scatter.....the stock boost gauge is worthless. Check for vac leaks, but I'm guessing everything is fine. Don't trust the little red blocks

How would I check for leaks?. A bit noob when it comes to the more complex stuff.

Check all your rubber hoses under the hood. The rubber t right underneath the supercharger snout likes to rot and tear

If the rubber T off the LIM was a problem, the stock boost gauge would not register any boost at all.

My best guess: You might be looking for a problem that isn't there.

To check for a vac leak, turn the car on, pop the hood, and spray around the throttle body, vacuum hoses, etc. and listen for it to cause the engine to rev a bit. If it revs, you found the leak.

If they swapped the parts, it is possible that you have a dirty Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) which can be cleaned with MAF cleaner. The throttlebody could be gummed up with deposits - the plate can be cleaned with throttlebody cleaner. Those ought to increase pep a bit.

Now that I think about it, post up a photo of the engine with the cover off for us. I almost wonder if by some freakshow of a hackjob, you got the wrong supercharger or something.

^in which case he'd end up with the wrong lim as well..if they told him his blower was fine they probably used it again.

How about the supercharger oil. Should I do a flush there?

After driving it some more it just lacks that killer instinct, that GO!!! feeling. Almost sluggish.

Without a scan we can't tell you whats going on.

The BBV could be not closing all of the way, but then it'd never fill up.

full is around 7 psi which is the most you should see on a stock motor anyways.

But thats on a 97-03.

Again we'd need to have more information before we can say whats going on.
