ongoing Issue with Ignition Main 1

I am having ongoing issues with Ignition Main fuse (40amp) blowing. It has blown twice in the past month. My mechanic has tested out all the wires fed by this fuse and they all test out fine. Anyone experience similar problems?

BTW, this car was partially submerged a few months back and I have replaced BCM and shifter linkage in center console along with other seemingly unrelated items. Help....

Sounds like it grounding out somewhere. If it doesn't pop as soon as you put it in then it isn't a constant ground and a meter won't be much help. My ad vice is check around the the linkage and console for any wires that might be pinched. Me guess is a pinched wired that every nowandthen gets enough pressure applied to it to ground out.
Or the ingnition is on it's way out. Good luck

far from an expert, but doesn't it need to be on the hot side if the fuse is blowing? I've been through about 7 40a fuses in the past week! Car goes into an electronics shop in the a.m.

If you have a short to ground the current will skip the load (resistance) and go right to the ground. That cause the amperage in the circuit to ski rocket. I=v/r ie... if you have 12 volts with .5 ohms resistance= 24amps=blown fuse=mad person= drinking= dui = jail time+loss of license=no need to drive car= plenty of time to fix the problem
