Re: How Much Longer Will You Keep Your Grand Prix And What Will Be Your Next Car?

Yah wait till you see the price on that

Some dude I know was like yeah what about fuel efficiency. It won't be efficient. And I said if I can buy the damn car I won't worry about fuel cause I can afford that too

Re: How Much Longer Will You Keep Your Grand Prix And What Will Be Your Next Car?

Ill be keeping mine til it dies. When I have a big boy job, ill either get a new Jeep Grand Cherokee or a Trailblazer SS AWD and supercharge/turbo it, one or the other, and have it as my DD.

That's a terrible argument.

Fuel efficiency is literally the worst reason to buy a new car.

If I bought a brand new Cruze/Sonic, it'd take 8 years to pay for itself around current fuel prices. Granted it'd likely be more reliable, I'd be miserable as all hell because it's a small econobox with no balls.

My GP is going to become my Street/Track dominator and ill DD Some 30mpg something or other

Re: How Much Longer Will You Keep Your Grand Prix And What Will Be Your Next Car?

Panda will be staying forever. Will have too much monies into it to get rid of it. I keep telling myself I'm gonna sell the gold car, but I know it'll likely never happen, I get too attached to cars/parts :(

Like the Lowe's slogan says, "never stop improving"... Always something you can spend money on with these things.

Re: How Much Longer Will You Keep Your Grand Prix And What Will Be Your Next Car?

I'll keep my 00 GT till my daughter starts driving then its hers. My 03 LE probably wont last too long with all the rust on the underbody
shame cause i had alot of plans for it. May take the motor out and drop it in a regal or bonneville.

Next car if i could swing it would be 05-06 GTO or that Hellcat Challenger

Re: How Much Longer Will You Keep Your Grand Prix And What Will Be Your Next Car?

I have owned many cars and several newer ones than my GTP. I have done the intake gaskets for maintenance and a plastic tank upgrade which was cheap. Other than that the car has been flawless and the most enjoyable I have ever owned. My wife would take it over her van if it was four doors. Just ordered a new truck and my car is for sale. This has been a great forum for info.

Very clean looking GTP. I love it.

Hope you enjoy the new truck as well.

Re: How Much Longer Will You Keep Your Grand Prix And What Will Be Your Next Car?

Regals are going nowhere....If I have my way the Audi RS7 will be my definite option out of the three sedans.....Grand Cherokee will be in the near feature for sure......and SRT-10 has always been on my list but probably wont happen after I grab the SRT-8 Cherokee(better traction anyway). by the way any one of these cars/SUVs and the truck would dust just about anything on the road(if not highly suited for the track or some ****. STS-V/Audi RS7/CTS-V/SRT-8 Cherokee/SRT-10 Ram/Regals

Bought my 2001 Grand Prix GT with 82K miles on it from original owner for $2900. No payments so I will keep it until the transmission or engine goes out. I already bought my next car. 1978 Trans Am. Now I'm just waiting to put the 455 in it.

Well, I have owned my 02 GT since 2004, just recently parted it out a couple weeks ago. I am the parts manager at Gator Motorsport (Lotus and Rossion Dealership) so a car was traded in recently and I pulled the trigger on it.

2007 Lotus Elise

Still have my 99 GTP as my daily though

Re: How Much Longer Will You Keep Your Grand Prix And What Will Be Your Next Car?

I would not keep mine another day if I could get $3000 out of it, to tell the truth. The wife had to have it, and I am tired of fixing it! Next car will be something that does not break every week and preferably has a warranty! lol

Better question, how's life relying on the british for parts?

Better yet, how short are you? I've heard tall people only fit in those with the targa top off.

Cheaper than a Corvette :)

Parts are for the most part easy to get, there are a few exceptions to that, like the LED tails and side lamps. But maintenance stuff I can get via Toyota or Lotus. Im 5'7", our tech at work is 6'4" and can fit fine with the soft and hard top. Now, he does have a problem at the track with a helmet. He does touch both tops with that.
