Damn, I know a few fema people there already.
Before I raise the flag... can you elaborate? Is that why you're driving a Grand Prix?
dont **** with nature.
mother nature is da baddest b1tch.
Crazy, glad they were all ok tho, dogs tooMy cousin personally knows the McCabe family that lost their little boy, it is devastating. My aunts old house was in the path, glad she moved, but feel for the people who was living there at the time.
1 question tho.... what is in the tree on the right at the top of the first picture???
Wow, glad to hear everyone made it out alright, squeeze, especially your nephew. Loss of life is always a tragedy but when it is a child it enters another realm entirely.
My work (local college) has started a donation relief fund. It doesn't feel like we're doing enough, at least to me it doesn't. I wish I could be there to help with my own hands.
So, being that most of you are too far away to get this info on FB, there is a group page thingy with all sorts of pictures you should look at. Rather funny to me. Just shows how well we stand up behind each other in the south.

Those Westboro Bastard Baptists thought they could come into our state and pull ****, well that didn't happen. From what I've heard arrests were made and others scattered once they realized that it IS illegal to protest 2 hours before, 2 hours after, or within 1000feet of a funeral in the state of Oklahoma. Idiots.
The line protecting the families as they pulled up is just awesome. Give me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
My older brother lives in Moore right behind the Warren theatre, and his house was gone. He and his wife were at work and my 4yr old nephew was at his grandparents. My brother took off work right after it had passed because his two dogs were left inside. To his amazment they were both still alive just buried and trapped under rubble. He climbed through and got them out but in the process stuck his foot with a nail and had to go get a tetanus shot, but hes doing well now. Looters tried coming several times to steal things. Good thing his neighbor camped out and scared them off. I went to help this past Wednesday and its an awful sight to say the least. Me and my Gf and family have been donating and helping as much as we can, along with everyone else's efforts. Its no Joke, I live just a bit south from them in Norman and my house does not have a storm shelter, but i will be looking for one now for sure.
0Meh, its all over that area since before the 50s when they decided to start recording it.
Tornado History Project: Oklahoma
There have only been 3472, documented (not sure if that is counting the several over the past week yet) since the 50s... in Oklahoma. probably a good 1/4 of them are around the OKC area. If you average it out, evenly spread over 63 years (1950-2013) that's just over 55 tornados per year over the state.... in 2-3 months of the year... fml
I really don't know why they put up with it. If it was up to me, I would be moving the city away from that area and let it stay empty field, maybe farm land, something... just bad juju about it lol. But then again, most places in Oklahoma are still known for having tornados every so often. We had one out on the lake just last week. Fortunately Durant is a low alt city and in the middle of a bowl, so most storms split and go around us, but occasionally even we get hit.
