So just started looking for a tuned pcm and ive personally come across 3 different types that sorta tripped my trigger.. zzp 1.0 PCM, an Overkill PCM or an Intense.. Ive read on different Grand Prix and 3800 forums and all of them say that x brand is better but y brand has this over z brand.. i just cant really make out the TRUE differences in what each pcm is and all that.. Ive got an 06 gp gt.. also heard that with some tunes that the fuel gauge will be backwards..

Know what you are buying and why you are buying it. There is not as mu h "hidden horsepower" in the 3800 pcms like you might find in a ls car.

My car is NA, so it's not a fair comparison. But he did an 87 and 93 octane tune for me. Cars feels spunkier for sure, maybe not a lot faster, but again that's the down fall of the NA motor. However, the best part was a small increase in fuel economy, and much better transmission operation.

17-20 city, depends on traffic/temperature.

30+ highway, easily. Unless I do like 85. Seen mid 30s when cruising at 55.

I have an overkill myself and I'm enjoying it. I like the transmission behavior and the increase in MPG. The increase in MPG alone will pay for the tune

The torque converter on these cars doesn't lock up until the trans fluid temperature hits 69 degrees. Depending on how cold of a day it is, it could be a good 15 minutes before the trans warms up.

Alternatively, you've possibly got a torque converter issue.
False. 78 degrees

could be the tcc solenoid. scan the car for a code that maybe pending still. a tune wont help that at all.

does it do that if you put the trans in 3 rd gear? a worn out 4 th hub will do that too. but being a 06 it should have the hardened shaft from the factory.

No doesn't do anything bad in 3rd. Drove all the way to St. Paul yesterday in third.. I'll take a look for a code.. But don't you need a special stealership reader tho?

It drives fine in 3rd. Drove it all the way to St. Paul no issues in 3.. But to check tranny codes don't you need a special stealership reader?

the free scanner from a parts store will pick up trans codes.

t app also reads codes, and theres cheap under 20 shipped scanners that work just fine too. i have both of those. running and waiting in line then dealing with a fool and a scanner gets old. so bought my own.

the scanner i got http://www.ebay.com/itm/U480-OBD2-O...hash=item19d5f99807&item=110964086791&vxp=mtr
