Anyone using one? My motor has 150K on it & does need a quart of oil at about the 75% usage point. It doesn't hardly leak any. This is a L67. 2004 GTP

its a L32 and gm says its normal to eat a qt between oil changes. most gm engines start to eat that qt like a switch went off @ 100,000 miles.

if you do have a leak fix it.
 
04 up cars have a L32 engine. if you have a leak im sure thats most of your oil loss.

v/s it will smoke on start up after sitting over night, bad rings would be the other way they eat oil.

i re gasketed my whole engine with 110,000 on it, not a drop in 2 years almost now. its nice to see the oil full on the stick every time i check it.
 
So at 04 they just changed the # & it's the same motor?

Never any smoke & the leak is very slow.

You ever hear of anyone putting a vacuum pump on our crank cases ?

I am getting a strange vibration under heavy acceleration though.
 


Blame the PCV system for part of the oil is eats, pretty common really. You also have 150K miles, to me I wouldn't even care. Oil is cheap anyway.

You are better off over filling the motor like I always do, stick 5 quarts in that pig and let it go. The oil pan never truely has 4.5 quarts in it while it's running, more like 3.5-4qts rpm depending, so adding an extra half quart makes no difference and is actually better to have more oil in the pan.
 
So why do you say mine is a L32 ? I have the Gen 5 & I'm not sure what a dbw tb is, & of Corse haven't measured the valves.
 
In 2004, when they changed the body style, they changed the supercharged engine in your GTP. It's designated L32...

Drive By Wire is GM's Throttle Body control on the newer engines. 2003 down have a cable.
