Im getting ready to put my car back together from having to change the uim and lim gaskets my car did the milkshake effect. So my question is should i drain all the oil outta my car before i put it back together or is it safe to wait till after i get it back together???

Get it back together...then drain the oil/change the filter. I always run a junky cheap quart through the lifter valley before reassmbly and through the valve cover once it is all done.

But I probably over it do it...better to be safe than sorry IMO.

But yeah...put her back together and change the oil is the short answer.

well you should pour about a quart of oil in the lifter valley before you put the top end back on it. before you crank it, do an oil change. run it for 5 minutes, do another oil change. THEN you are good to go if you have no leaks :)
