Oil Pressure readings?

I am wonderng what the normal oil pressure readings you all see with manual gauges? I have notices mine droped some whitch has me concerned. At idle its 15 psi and driveing a operating temp, 2000 rpm it at 35 to 39 psi. Trying to find out what my next step is ging to be.

Thanks

Depending on your climate and choice of oil and filter... there will be variances.

Typically I'd say 30-40 for idle and 40-50+ for 2000 rpm

Fresh rebuild, new bearings and riings. I will be changing oil today to 15-40 since its been 100+ here. 5-30 i think is to thin so i will do that later today.

i always ran 10w-40.

recommended is usually 10w-30, but the 40 weight helps keep pressures up higher where you'd like them.

Easy way to bhump the pressure a little bit is to also buy the '04+ accumulator/spring kit for the oil filter housing.

Easily good for a 5~+ PSI bump.

I see 70 psi at start up (cold). HOT idle is 35-40 and always at 60-65 while crusing around town and on the freeway when the rpms are at 2,000 to 2,500.

And I would not run 15w40, 10w30 or 10w40 will do fine.

According to my Sport-Comp gauge and 130K on a used motor I see 75 at cold startup, 49-50 at hot idle in gear (stoplight), and 74 crusing on highway at 60 (~2K rpms). About 70 when crusing city areas. This was as of today with 104* temps outside and the A/C on. I always run conventional 10W-30 Valvoline in it with a Wix filter just like all my other cars minus my 03 CV.

I do happen to run Valvoline VR-1 20W-50 in my 74 Midget, like a boss, lol...
