Oil pan Removal

Quick down and dirty question:

I was changing the oil on my new to me 97 GT and I noticed the oil pan was dinged up. Do I need to pull the engine to drop and change the oil pan?

You can lift the engine slightly, remove the u bracket from the engine and then get to the oil pan bolts. It's not a lot of fun with the steel pan. Which is why I swapped to the alumunimununununununum one.
