Oil Pan leak question

Its kinda dented, and oil has been leaking out of this little spot for a while now. It's just little dribbles here and there but its still leaving a spot on my driveway. I also don't want to change the pan, because that requires me taking the whole engine out and thats just not happening. Can i just clean around the area and put some black rtv gasket maker silicone stuff on the spot or is that a bad idea?

Drain your oil, and let it sit for a day to get any seepage away from the crack. Clean it real well with a degreaser, scuff it with some sand paper and use something like JB Weld to seal it. Worked for me on a lowered 90 Camaro RS I bottomed out and dented/cracked the oil pan, on a ridiculously tall speed bump in a parking lot.

For what reason? I would never pull an engine to do a rear valve cover gasket, why pull it to change an oil pan gasket?

Well when I think about it... If I would have completely took the sub frame out then and only then it would have been an ok job and not have taken me 16 hours.

I think the job only pays an hour or two in the labor guides.

Support motor from above.
Lower sub a bit
Pull off U shaped bracket/mount
Do pan
Put mount back in
Subframe back up.

I know it's a pain to jockey the motor and subframe seperate from the car, but it's not that bad.
