Top swap is all done. Boost gauge is wired up. Plenty of pics.

Mods:

1.9 rockers
L76 V8 springs
Lucas 42.5# injectors
GBP ported LIM
GBP ported Gen III M90
GBP ported TB
Plog
ZZP DP
WizAired

Car runs great. Only started to lean into boost a little (haven't even gotten over 50% throttle) and it really screams. The GBP porting sounds awesome. With the windows down you get a light whistle at idle and cruise, and it really opens up as the BBV closes. On to the pics!

Tear down starts.

Pulled the LIM. I put these gaskets in a year and a half ago and they still looked great. Replaced them anyway.

Front valve cover. Perfectly clean (been using good oil).

Nice! it came out clean. Did you leave the bottom of the bbv open?

Nice! it came out clean. What kind of gauges are those?

Prosport. They're an automotive branch of a company that makes aeronautical gauges (Imtronics). We use some of them in the AF so I trust them. So far I've been happy with my fuel pressure gauge (had it since last summer) and I'm already happy with the boost gauge.

They have red to match your Pontiac interiors, and they're a lot cheaper than Autometer and their over priced gauges.

Prosport Gauges - Boost gauges, Wideband Air Fuel Ratio, 80mm tachometers, 80mm Boost gauges,Oil pressure gauges, peak warning Gauges. Wideband Air Fuel Ratio Gauges

QwikGT, thanks. The balancer, bracket, and pulley all worked perfectly. :)

99prixgt, I see your edit. Yeah, I left the bottom of the BBV open to atmosphere.

Sabrewings, do those gauges have written on the dial "oil pressure", "boost", etc? The reason I ask is Ive been waiting for them to come out with a trans fluid temp gauge and it doesnt appear they are going to do so, but if they dont have stuff like that written on the gauge face I could use their pressure gauge for oil and trans.

I inquired about a transtemp gauge from them a while back to see if they had plans on making one. They replied with a no because demand was not high enough for one.

They said I could use an oil temp gauge from them and it would be the same. Except it would say ''Oil Temp'' instead of ''Trans Temp''.

Hope that helps.

Yep. They say "Fuel Press" and "Boost".

Why not get an Aeroforce? I monitor my trans temp that way and it's much more accurate than a gauge you add on to one of the pressure test ports.

Great looking stuff man! Hope you're happy when you finally get to go WIDE OPEN.:D

Couldn't have done it without you. :)

Which fuel pressure gauge do you have? I need to get one for myself, all I see are oil pressure ones.

Edit: I think I found it.....the 52mm one that comes with the sender?

not a bad price at all.

You found it. I have one out of the blue/white series, but I'm sure they have on in red or whatever other color. 52mm should fit about any gauge pod.

It may just be the pod for our Impalas, but the Prosport gauges are an extremely tight fit. I manage to get them in, but every time I consider opening the hole a hair with a sanding drum on my dremel. The price is great and so far I've had no issues. *knock on wood*

I'm still undecided on where to put my fuel pressure sender. It's at the end of the SS hose coming off the fuel rail. I've got enough slack in wire and hose to put it about anywhere.
