Hey Guys just looking around getting some info for my 05 SC3.8 that will be going into my new Off Road race truck. Here is a picture of my current rig with a 99 SC3.8 with 3.4 pulley, plugs, no tstat, custom wiring harness, and tuned computer by Jims Performance 65192_382908795129836_154476137_n.jpg

You must be new to the 3800
Our brothers from aus will put a 3800 everything. I bet you'd call bs to a sc camaro or bird

Hell there are boats with blown 3800s

Now to the Op
I would love to see a build thread. You on pirate 4x4?

Welcome. Not sure if you're the same guy or not but there's a guy on FTV6 who's building a rock crawler like yours and is pretty much done I believe. Massive turbo on that beast.

I didn't know they did cause I hadn't seen em in anything else before or even heard of em. And considering it was his first post I thought it was a joke

Edit : well anything except cars

I have a build thread at 2008 Yota Off-Road XRRA/WEROCK Buggy Build/Rebuild - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum I built this one over 5 years ago. Also you can check us out at http://www.facebook.com/YotaOffRoadRacing. Here are some other cool pics

I choose to run another 3.8 because I have beat the crap out of my current motor for 5 years and have never had the oil pan or valve covers off of engine. Just would like to get a few more HP out of new engine.

Sorry to jump on ya. This is seriously legit

Edit: cause that looks sick!

Here is what I am planning on my engine build(am shopping for all parts so pm me if u have anything). I will be running a 3.0 pulley from Branik Motorsports, Intercooler of some sort, XP Hot Cam or S1X Intense cam, 90 or 105 springs, N* TB setup, custom header and maybe 42lb injectors. This is a 05 engine but will have 2000 engine, computer, fuel rails and injectors. What do u guys think decent setup? Also is there anyone who could tune the PCM without having the car there? Local guy with dyno wants big buck to tune the SC3.8 and he says it now what he does a lot of?

Branik pulley pretty cool piece that will let me run just one belt.

that thing looks like a blast. cant wait to see it done.

you can get a stand alone pcm, pre tuned from zzp. maybe not the best canned tune out there, but it will make it run. then maybe fine tune it later on.

With as many mods as you are wanting to do, a canned tune from a vendor is the last thing you want to run.

I know this isnt a track car that will see high speeds, but its still something that needs to be tuned correctly to see no issues.

Well my current car is tuned by Jims Performance in MD and is absolutely awesome but all I have done to it is a smaller pulley, plugs, good flowing intake and exhaust. I just thinking with a intercooler and cam it would be nice to have someone that knows 3.8 very well. A guy that had a very similar motor to what I am building had ZZP do his computer and he was not impressed so not sure.

This car will be seeing very high speeds. In low range it will run 93mph and hoping it will bull well over a 100mph in high range! Rockcrawling has become very high speed racing with very hard rock sections that you have to tackle as well.[
