Odd problem with my Heads up Display

Hey, everyone! I have an odd problem (or what it seems like to me) with my heads up display, and I wasn't sure where to post so I posted here. I was driving my car very laid back and casual and ever so slightly I saw the heads up display that I've never seen work before...WORK! I was so excited! Then it disappeared again...Then it came back up! Anyways I digress... I'd like to know what the heck that is, and also I noticed it was in Km/H rather than MP/H Do I need a new. Some help would be great!!! Thanks guys.
 


the wiring is messed up where it plugs into the module.. I used to have a 99 that did this. one night it all of a sudden appeared then went away again. then I would bump the hud and it would come back on again.. after fixing the plug it worked ever since.. I guess it probably got loose at some point and wasnt connecting. could go to a junk yard and cut out a new plug and rewire it.. also the Km is probably what you have it set on the DIC? thats fixed by pushing the button that changes it.. haha. hope this helps and good luck those things are finicky on some cars.
 
thanks guys! sorry I haven't been online for a little bit, and for the late reply, but that's a big help! Maybe I just need to plug it in better. How do I take this dash apart? O.O haha
