Odd problem, noise only when turning right.

I had a mechanic replace the power steering pump, rack, tie rod ends, and check the starter (found another thread that said their pinion was hitting flywheel when turning right only).. none of that fixed the noise.

He checked the obvious, joints/bearings, etc..

Said it has to be from the trans since we already did all the above.

Any ideas greatly appreciated..

does it only make noise when its rolling or when you are stopped too? and what kind of noise? rubbing, grinding, squeaks, banging? does it do it when going fast, slow or anytime?, we are going to need more info on this one.

maybe post a vid of said noises.

Sounds like its following the wheel, kind of a click/grinding noise. I'll post a video w/ sound tomorrow, it's pretty loud.

Oh and anytime when turning right. Slow or fast. I say it sounds like its following the wheel because it gets faster as I go faster.

Never when sitting still, driving straight, or turning left.

If the noise stops when you turn the car off, that means it's something driven by the motor and not attached to the wheels.

The wheels and many transmission parts are still moving when you turn off the car and coast. Therefore let's list out what stops when you turn off the motor.

Power steering pump
Alternator
water pump
Torque converter
AC compressor
Trans pump

One thing that comes to mind is if your power steering rack has an issue you might be getting noise from it which will stop when a ps pump is turned off.

He said he swapped in a new rack, so I don't know! Raining today, couldn't do a video. I'll try tomorrow.

So confused!! What can I do to further diagnose? Any suggestions?
