• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Not sure where this goes...

Alright, so I was pretty ill over the weekend (the remnants of pnemonia and the beginning of the antibiotics to fight it off). Commenced to having a coke classic in the car (which is really rare in itself). Opened the thing up, and wallah. The foamy crap goes all over me and the center console.

I got most of it cleaned up. So, now, the shifter makes a creeeeeeeeeeeeeky noise when shifting. How does one tear apart that piece where the shifter and boot sit? And exactly how does one clean around what I assume are a mess of wires and cables under there?

(If you tell me just to take my pressure washer to it, I will slay you with a letter opener to your forehead. It is freakin 30 degrees outside.)

You will have to take out the insert in the center console, and open the cup holder....Then use your fingers to pry up on the lip of the where the cup holder meets the center console....That whole long plastic piece should pop out...you may need to put the car in N to get it all the way out....at that point you can clean up everything....

If that does not work, leave those pieces at home and go to a drive thru car wash with the windows down....

didnt say pressure washer, so leave that letter opener in the drawer...hehe

Define "small". Do you mean little and young? Or are you referring to adults that are your friends that act like little kids?

To get the shifter knob off pull it in to 1st and look on the back side for a slot with a piece of metal in it. A small flat screwdriver behind it will pull it out it is the back side of a U shaped clip that holds the shift knob on. it will then come up and off the rod and you can take see the clips that hold the shifter cover on. there may be a wire to the shift performance button it stays attached to the knob and has a connector that you can see after the cover is up. It's not hard and there is a lot of room in there for lost things :)
