Not getting power to fuel pump-fuse is good

Pump is not pumping. There is no power going to the connector if I disconnect it and test with a multimeter. The 15 amp fuse in the engine is good. Any ideas?

yes. pretty sure it only turns on for like 5 seconds to prime the engine, then shuts off till the car is running.
 
you mean your running with no sender on the pump? dont think it would affect the pump its self, but you never know right? maybe plug it in for sh its and giggles.
 


If the pump is pumping.. the issue isn't the power, it's the tester.

Key on.. pump kicks for only a second to prime the system and build pressure. If you test it w/o the car running, you won't get power.

Wanna try again at telling us what seems to be the issue?

Personally.. I'd jump the fuel pump relay and see if you get fuel. If so.. pcm is keeping the pump off
 


im not sure if your car is the same as the bonnevilles but there is a ground connection under the carpet right next to the door sils that apparently runs to the fuel pump that has the tendency to rust and corrode. Might be worth checking, it only takes a few minutes


"security features" could keep your pcm from letting the pump run as well.
 
so it turned out to be that little connector thing in the trunk that the fuel pump wires go to then that thing goes inside the car, the connection wasn't tight. but my aftermarket sending unit/fuel gauge isn't working which is the whole reason i took the tank off in the first place.
