• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Northstar GTP??

Yeah I'm not trying to have the fastest GP out there.. Just something unique. How much are LS4's going for? and I still have that 99 eldorado so could I pull the trans out of that? It would probably need rebuilt though. It slips into 2nd and 3rd with any decent amount of throttle. I might just go buy a trans.. less work lol.

bell housings are different, you would need to find a tranny that would bolt up to a ls4.

my brothers got a olds aurora, its got a N* in it and a auto fwd trans. hit the perf shift button and it chirps second gear, bone stock. not sure what tranny its got, i do know its not what a gtp or regal uses.

4T80E probably.. I believe thats what they put in the N* cars. I'll have to look into seeing if a 4T80E will bolt up to an LS4

I have a 99 Eldorado that pretty much done so I could possibly pull the trans out of that. Like I said earlier though it probably needs rebuilt.. That is of course if that'll bolt up to an LS4

the bell housing should. my guess would be you need to use a v8 flex plate. then hope it uses the same holes for the torque converter. so you dont need to buy one of them.

Come to Nebraska....the junkyard by me has a t-boned Bonneville GXP with about 80K on it. The yard only charges $300-400 for a full motor IIRC.

Few N* haters in here. They made some updates to the engine for 2000+ FWD, and revamped it for RWD in 04. The RWD is a solid motor, have it in my 05 STand love it. Just an fyi, the bell housing bolt pattern is unique to the motor, and as others have said it is expensive to repair when something goes. The bottom end is pretty stout, but the top end was questionable on the fwd. Oh, and the split case design is prone to oil leaks.
