The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
In the past I bought Centric standard vented rear rotors for my gxp rear brake setup. I just checked Rock Auto and see they no longer carry rear vented rotors that aren't drilled or slotted. Anyone have any luck finding gxp rear rotors that aren't drilled or slotted and purchased them recently? I'm temped to try R1 Eline rotor blanks but am a bit worried that when they arrive they'll be drilled. Autozone shows non drilled rotors on there website but in store they are drilled so no good there.
Drilled Rotors have a higher chance of cracking than non drilled rotors. I just put new fbody rotors on the front of the GTP and figured I'd do the rear too. Only to realize non drilled rotors for a GXP rear setup are virtually impossible to source. I called R1 concepts on ebay and spoke with there technical department. Apparently they use to carry non drilled rear rotors part # 121.62092, however when they go to place the order the part # changes to 228.62092 which is a drilled rotor. I was told they've seen this happen before and it's possible that since the GXP was sold with drilled rotors and to be able to say they sell OEM like rotors they have to be drilled as well. This was just a theory of his, and I can see the logic but who knows whether or not this is accurate. I just had Oreilly Auto parts turn my rear rotors for $8 each. The rotors only had a few thousand miles on but a lot of rust since the GTP has seen maybe 30 miles in 2 years. Rotors only had a few thousandths removed and look literally new so goodluck to those in the future looking for non drilled rotors.
Gxp rotors are cast with holes they won't crack. Havent seen one oem Gxp rotor with cracks.band the good thing is you can still turn Gxp rotors as well. The argument of salt belt is a moot point. Regardless alp rotors being vented salt will get in there and cause rust if you don't do some regular maintenance.
