Noisy Grindy Rotors

Haven't been here in a while. My GTP has been in storage. :-(
Anyways... I did a complete brake job over the weekend getting it ready for the road again. All new calipers, pads, rotors, & hoses. All went fine until I backed it our of the driveway. I went with PoerStop drilled & slotted rotors. I know their not necessarily the best of the best and maybe overkill, but reviews are typically good for daily drivers, so I figured I'd give 'em a try. I've done a thousand brake jobs, so I'm no novice, but this is my first with drilled & slotted rotors.

I have not bedded them yet, but I did just back out & went a block and back slowly. They are noisy. Like very noisy. It's a grindy rythmic noise (obviously from the slot & drill pattern) when light applying the brakes. It is a little shocking to me just how loud it was, so I just parked it back in the garage and started researching. I'm certain everything is installed correctly, bled, clean, etc. etc. I called PowerStop and they say it's normal until they are bedded, but geez... it's scary. Seems louder on the front right, but it's loud all the way around. Anyone here have the same experience? Will it really go away after the bedding procedure?

go bed them in. they are gonna make some grinding sounds when you first drive em.

after they are bedded in you might hear a whooshing sound when your hard on them.

I have never bedded brakes before. I had heard of it before but thought bs. Now that I have read up on bedding it makes sense and I am definitely going to be performing it after my next brake job

OK.... Thanks for the replies. I can't wait to get her back on the road. I'll get it done as soon as I find a good place nearby without traffic to do it. They are just so scary loud. They told me about the coating when I called, but it still just doesn;t seem like they should be that loud.

A/C compressor is next.... Looks tight for big hands.

Bedding isn't BS, and your brakes will feel like crapola until they are. Remember, the rotors aren't oerfect, neither is the pads, so it's takes a little wear to mate the surfaces perfectly! Until then all sorts of weird things occur, noise, loss of braking, lol.
