Need some help finally back after wayyyyy too long. But anyways my car has been running smooth until last week... Had to get everything rekeyed after the ignition solenoid locked up and the key got stuck in the car very annoying... But anyways further more the mechanic said they had to do a relearn on the car and that there was no problems. Well they never checked the stereo (aftermarket HU) after everything was said and done and to my surprise when I turned it on I got no sound. The stereo itself had no problem starting up I just never got any audible response. I was just wondering if the Relearn itself could have cause this? I have already pulled the stereo out and found no wires missing or loose. Let me know what you guys think.
 


Check your fuse on the passenger side.

But thinking about what Jake said, it might be possible that you have to do a security relearn on the factory stereo to get your new one to work... just a wild guess.
 


So if I no longer have the stock radio my radio will no longer ever work? If so the value of my car just hit the floor... Thats not a good thing to hear
 


The problem is I sold the Stock on on here over a year ago. Also I am currently in the unemployment line broke and have no money to buy anything including another stock HU to try this with
 
sometimes the RAP module in the wiring harness for aftermarket gets fried. Not sure why?...but I've seen it two times before when helping grand prix owners
 
SO would that mean buying a whole new wiring harness? And when you say that do you mean the whole GMOS unit? cause thats an expensive one. Im half tempted to take it to the mechanic and say you broke it you fix it
 


Well, do you hear your door chimes when you open the door? Because that unit keeps those intact, and if they aren't working, then it has something to do with that unit.
 
You know I really didnt notice that until you said something. My door chimes are no longer functioning. Along with the red light on my mirror has been on for a disruption in the onstar. Now is it safe to believe that the radio itself would run fine while only certain pieces would malfunction?
 
Read some other stuff about how the GMOS is junk and theres alot of issues with it giving out like this alot. SOOOO.. Ive seen alternate people saying to go with C2R-GM24... However, the only issue im seeing with this is it says its for non-amplified units.... Which mine is the premium sound system being from the GTP would this cause any issues. Thanks for the replies too guys you make this alot easier (and talked to my mechanic he may cover the cost of these parts :) )
 
OK.. now im just mad at myself for asking after looking I have found the OS-2C Bose will work with my system. In that case it looks like its gonna be about $60 for the cheapest one I can find.. Ugh oh well if it will get my music back im dieing lol
