• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

ok this is gonna be kinda cryptic. i did not install the sub and amp, my best friend did. but now my RPMs dont work.. anyone know why? he figures its probably just the fuse. but jhust thought id throw it out there..

btw. kevlar memphis 12" (probably didnt spell that right sorry..) and a sony 800watt amp.

yes the rest of the gauges work..

and im sorry. i dont know how my fan speeds have anything to do with my rpms not working in my gauge cluster. thanks though.

Its not going to be the instrument fuse if the rest of the gauges work.

Its more than likely an issue with the crank or vehicle speed sensors.

He shouldnt have caused any problems just installing an amp.. But my tach sticks on the base pin if it sits for a while. Tap on the plastic of the gauge cluster shield and see if it pops up. Thats what I have to do sometimes.

RPM is read from the ICM via the crank sensor, then to the pcm and cluster. Typically the only thing that should cause this would be a bad crank sensor.

If your friend ran the wiring to the battery...maybe the wiring at the icm/crank area was hit/moved and that's the cause. Otherwise, I can't understand them being related.

I would agree with Bill... Also sometimes the tach needle does get stuck but I'm leaning more towards the crank sensor....
