Hello everyone,

I have a 04 CompG that randomly developed brake issues a few months ago...4 new rotors, 4 complete front and back sets of pads, brake hoses on all 4 corners, 4 new calipers on all corners, and a new master cylinder and my brake issue has come full circle. They make grinding noises even when wet. No visible gouging on any rotor, front or back. And when they are cold they make high frequency squeaking when backing up. They sound absolutely horrible. And I'm out of ideas aside from replacing everything again. Anyone have any ideas?

Check your parking brake. Could be dragging on the rear rotors.

Also, are you sure it's brake related? Could be a wheel bearing too.

The parking brake cable isnt even connected to the rear calipers. It seized years ago since the previous owner never used it. and both hubs are good.

if you live in a area with snow and got the car buried or just plowed through some deep snow. all of the dust shields might be touching the rotors. happened to my regal.

or they may have gotten bent over some other way, worth a check tho.

Doesn't snow often. And dust shields are perfect somehow. Rear is where the main issue seems to be. The front passenger side seems to drag a bit when you first move it be then it clears up. The rear are actually starting to grove the rotors which is just sad considering the they arent even 3 months old.

all 4 hoses were replaced when the calipers were replaced. During that we also replaced the master cylinder.
