No fuel pressure

I installed and fixed some of the stuff on my 2002 Monte Carlo the other day. Fixed the intercooler added a catch can ect ect.

The problem is that that car won't start and the fuel pump sounds like it is straining to prime. The only things I did to the fuel system were PRJ rails, magnafuel AFPR and stainless lines from in the engine bay to the AFPR and rail.

The gauge that I installed on the FPR reads zero all the time. Even after priming the fuel pump a few times and cranking it over.

I was thinking bad fuel pump, clogged filter or something clogging the line but I don't see how it could just go bad from just installing that new stuff.
 


Did the gauge read at all before? you could take the access cover off and see if you can hear it better. fuel filters are also cheap.
 
The gauge is new and mounted to the AFPR. I can hear the pump and hear it prime but sounds garbled. I have a fuel filter and a re-wire and Racetronix pump.

The other reason I have not thrown that stuff on is because I wanted to start it before I added the pump and re-wire.
 


Remove the incoming fitting on the filter and turn the key on. Catch the fuel in a cup or something. It probably just needs primed.

I have not installed the new pump yet. It's still the stock pump and normal wiring.

I will try that. I have to install a new filter anyways.


Is it possible to not have enough fuel in the tank to prime the pump? I think I am at or below a 1/4 tank.

From what Paul said on the other forum I have the two lines switched. I need to change them and it should work out.

On a side note.....I am going to remove the brake booster so I have more room to get the lines back off. (It was a pain in the ass the first time)

Anyone have a picture and/or tips for getting the line going to the brake peddle from the booster off? I read it's a clip but I am a visual person.

You assured me the lines were on correct. Did you connect the pressure line to the return port?
That would explain it.

I have the clip in my car and should be able to get you a picture later today. If you look up from the brake pedal and find the rod coming to it, you'll see the clip. A flat screwdriver touching it, would have it off in a second.

For some reason when I did the lines I got it in my head that the sending line goes to the FPR first. lol
