No forward Gears only Reverse

I am going to buy a 2001 gtp that will not go forward and only reverse. Anyway, he said that it just went out after sitting for a few hours.
He came back and it would not go forward only in reverse.

I am ready to swap the trans as I have a 98 trans sitting in my garage but I was just wondering if this is a fuse or solenoid problem and not mechanical. The car has 123K on it. Anythoughts would be helpful. I get the car tomorrow!
