No dash lighrs...

I have a 97 gp gtp with no dash lights. All the fuss are good even the one under hood. Could it be the aftermarket radio not potentially being hooked up righr? I'll swap the dimmer switch hopefully it's the issue. But do they still link the dash lights with the radio?
