So my 04 CompG sat all winter in my barn. I left the battery in it and it went dead. I pulled the battery out and charged it, put it back in and it won't crank. Won't even click. When I turn the key to on it goes through the normal start up procedure (gauges sweep, everything inside comes on) but when I turn it to run everything goes out like it normally does, but it doesn't crank, doesn't even click. I don't see a security light anywhere but I'm not even certain where the security light is on an 04. I drove it in the barn and it was 100% fine when I parked it. I had the key out of it all winter. Does it need to relearn the key? I found a relearn procedure online but I don't know where this security light is they're talking about. I'm stumped lol. Thanks in advance guys!

try hitting the starter with a hammer a few good shot may make it work again. when left to sit some times they freeze up.
and check the grounds on the tranny bell housing and starter wires.

security wont keep it from cranking. when theres a security issue most of the time it will crank over, run for 5 to 10 seconds, then stall out. as security cut the fuel.

Sounds like a bad ground to the starter, fix it.

It's a security issue. The car started flashing all kinds of stuff on the dic then went nuts flashing lights and clicking relays. Then it flashes thru service abs, service stabilitrak, charging system failure, and then it lights up red saying service theft system. So I'll try the key relearn again.
Got it figured out. Someone is playing a sick joke on me bc my starter relay in the fuse block under the hood is mia... Replaced it with a similar one I had and it fired right up. It does have a security issue tho bc it says service security system on the dic when I start it. Hopefully that will clear itself up. Thanks for the help guys.
Are you sure you just didn't pull the relay when you stored it and forgot about it?? I used to do something similar to this when I worked in a bad part of town and would often forget until I went to leave, lol... Unless you left it unlocked all winter and someone popped the hood, then it could be a joke.
I don't remember pulling the relay and it's nowhere to be found. It sat in my barn with the hood popped all winter. I doubt anyone would be smart enough to pull it to play a joke on me. I either knocked it out when I fought the battery in and out or I needed a relay for my better half's grand am and I took it from the CompG. Either way it sucked and I wasted half a day doing what should've taken an hour.
