hello i have a 98 gtp with t.o.g headers borla exhaust with no cats d.h.p comp thrasher cold air and 3.25 pulley and im only getting about 5 psi can anyone help me please
Well your gonna get talked down to for having a low pulley size of 3.25 without the correct modifications to support that pulley. That may be why your getting low boost.
check the boost bypass valve electrical connection. If the BBV does not have an electrical connection or if it is bad, you only get about 4-5 lbs boost. I would also look at the vac line at the BBV while you are there.
Headers
Intake
Plugs and Wires
180* Thermostat
PCM Tune
I would put that 3.4 on if you don't have the stock one. You need to make sure your car can handle the extra power your giving it by doing these modifications. A 3.25 is way to low of a pulley with where your at with your modifications.
No problem, that is why we are here. Do yourself a favor and scan that car with the 2 pulleys. I am in total agreement with nawarkk, that pulley is too small for your setup.
nope changed the bbv and still 5 psi im gonna change the pulley this weekend. i also am getting a low freq code for mass air sensor i cleared the code and put a new one on and still says low freq any ideas anyone?
Almost guaranteed that the problem is the solenoid for the BBV if you're actually getting on only 5 PSI. Unhook the vac line from the solenoid to the actuator, plug it on the solenoid side and leave the actuator open to atmoshpere. You should see full boost.
Like Bio said, you're going to blow the thing up, though. I don't think I would even test this with the 3.25 still on there.
