anyone have experience with this cam?

i bought my car with it already in, car has not been dyno tuned, just some adjustments with the zzp 1.0 pcm

car has 3.4" pulley and speed daddy headers, with 3" catless downpipe

same as in my sig.

is this a dangerous setup to go WOT on? without tune

Dyno tune would be preferable but if it's got a ZZP tune on it for the cam you should be ok. Don't do it though until you scan

What do you mean, until I can scan? You mean with a wideband o2? And tuning software to monitor detonation?

Tuning software definitely. But not to just monitor KR, to monitor everything. Zzp says this cam is dangerous to run untuned and can chip pistons.

Yes. Personally, I monitor my Aeroforce scan tool gauge driving around along with my AEM UEGO o2.
When datalogging, I have my laptop with HPTuners recording.

you need to scan, that cam bleeds boost like crazy, so you can run the smallest pullies. scan it

i know this sounds bad, this is my first heavily modded car, and boosted car.

what do you mean it bleeds boost like crazy.

and by scanning it.. with a scan tool? like the Modis from Snap On or what? i hooked up the Modis at school before when i was looking at two codes i had, one was for my ECT and MAP, the ECT sensor was cracked, i fixed that, the MAP sensor was completely gone, the guy before me didnt put it back on...

didnt get a chance to get the MAP sensor hooked up and the vac lines fixed before the car started puking coolant down the back of the engine, and not staying started under a load, i never even gave it half thottle bc its a fresh rebuilt engine, letting it break in.

its got a busted head gasket on the firewall side of the engine.

when i looked at PID data in the scan tool it showed can is running lean, it has a vac leak where the EGR bolts to the LIM, bc the previous owner stripped the bolt hole there. i got to re-thread that for sure. during the top end rebuild im about to do.(valve job, surface the heads, valve seals, replace what needs to be)

i work at a engine shop, so i get to do all this for free.

gasket set is gonna bust my ass though, even with the company discount.

HPTuners would be a good scanning method and tuning software. It interfaces a laptop with the car. I hope you got that car cheap with all those issues.
