• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

whats up just bought a 2000 gt 180 miles on the clock and blew a rod bearing...what else should i look for to replace before it goes out

Welcome to the board.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I don't know that rod bearing failure is all that common though. Sounds to me like the car needs a good going-over.

well i got it cheat and its nice brand new cond. but i plan on doing a top swap....my sister has a bonnaville pushing bout 280 at the wheels so shes trying to help out best she can

180K miles? Since you spun a bearing, I would say a freshening up of the engine is in order. Probably need to check out the transmission too.

yes 180k...oh i am doing a full lower end rebuild and ill have to replace the tranny later anyways...is it cheaper to do a top swap or just get a l67 all together?

For what you are looking to do, I'd look for an L67 pull-out. It will be less money/time intensive.

Is that tranny and motor? or just motor if thats just motor you can find a l67 cheaper. Hell for 900 bux you should be able to find a l32
