Pace Car

Hello all!
I have owned two Grand Prixs, a 1998 Daytona 500 Pace Car and a 2000 Daytona 500 Pace Car that I am trying to sell. It had the dreaded engine fire one month ago today. I was in the house for about 10 minutes when I got a knock on the door with someone saying my car was on fire. Sure enough, flames were shooting about 2 feet out of the hood vents and burning plastic was dripping to the street below. I grabbed a fire extinguisher and put it out while calling the fire department. The firefighters disconnected the battery. I just settled with my insurance company yesterday and have the opportunity to buy the car back for a couple of hundred bucks.

I also own two other Pontiacs, a 07 Solstice GXP and a 09 Vibe GT I picked up last week to replace the Grand Prix.

I look forward to checking out this forum. If I find the right Grand Prix Pace Car or Comp G, I may be an owner again. I am active on the solsticeforum and have looked at the vibe forum. Not sure if I am going to mod the vibe or not. I did have the dealer paint the break calipers before delivery. The Solstice is heavily modded and pushes just over 300 hp.

Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear about the fire buddy. How does the solstice run? My mom was going to get one but she got a 69 cutlass supreme instead. I think you will like it here
 
Welcome to the forums!!! it's a shame a pace car went up! if you were closer I would drive down with the truck and trailor and buy that one off of you.

Yeah, I wish I would have found this forum before. The Solstice runs great. It is in the garage for the winter with a Cutlass Supreme too! I bought this 71 when I was 20 years old (1985). I'm the 2nd owner and it spent it's first 140,000 miles green.

Wow small world haha, my mom still wants to pick up a solstice. The cutlass's are nice, real nice :th_thumbsup-wink: my mom picked her up last year and my dad had his friends shop do a complete restore on her.
