• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

New to the form and new to the grand prix. My name is Mike from Dwight,I'll and I just bought my first grand prix. Its a 1999 grand prix gt with the 3800 motor. It has 204,817 miles and runs like a top. It is a nasty brown metallic color with leather interior. As it sits right now it needs a strut on the back and a window motor. Its completely stock as of right now and I only paid $800. Let me know what you think.

Welcome Sir. Be careful not to break any of the mounting bolts on the struts. Advance Auto Parts has some free spring compressors and you might want to get some leather wipes for your seats.

Yes I have pictures but I don't know how to get them on cause I'm trying to do it threw my phone. I don't have a computer just a smart phone. And I was told when doing the strut if I do the whole thing spring and all I don't need a special tool as long as I am not messing with the spring.

correct, those are called quick struts, comes with a sping and strut, simple unbolt and bolt in. then get an allignment and your golden.
Yeah but those are expensive...
If the the OEM springs and mount are good use them.
Quick struts are a lot easier and safer to use. Idk its up to u sir.

I am just going to a local junk yard for now being as I am strapped for cash if I pull them myself they only cost $10 a piece
