• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hey to all just purchased a used 99 GTP and stumbled on to this site. I will be doing some work to this car as time and money allows as our family of five needed a mode of transportation and we wanted something that was fun to drive as well. With just over 205xxx miles she is no spring chicken but overall runs very well. Needs MAF sensor, tuneup items, and super charger chatters a bit at an idle which from research I have found out about worn couplers inside the snout so will look to tackle that as well. Only body issue is under side ground effects rusted out pretty bad which is sad because rest of car is still in nice shape. Any and all advice or input on the car would be great as im always looking to improve and enjoy :) Thanks all!

Welcome to GPF! I'm relatively new here as well, but it's always good to have new people. You'll probably get the usual suggestions soon: debadge it, drop it, and just get some headers, pulleys, and a really good tune so it's nice n slow. :) I say enjoy it, and seek as much pleasure from it as you can have for free. That said, there are some things that can be had relatively cheap and help you enjoy it just a little more. Definitely check out the "Safely Modding Your GTP" thread for fun and good info. For general maintenance stuff, I would recommend checking the suspension for wear, particularly your ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings and struts/springs/isolators. Also, check hoses and lines for any obvious wear, and change your S/C oil with two of GM's 8oz bottles. If you have questions, there are many here more knowledgeable than me, but I'm glad to help out if I can. Congratulations on your new GTP, I hope it works well for you and your family. Here are a few good sites that still sell replacement/performance parts for our cars.

pfyc.com
zzperformance.com
3800performance.com
wbodystore.com

Again, feel free to ask questions, we're mostly friendly people. :th_wave:

Will add pics very soon thanks for asking. Enjoying this forum alot already as there is a ton of info on here it seems and a good group of people is nice to see.
