New to L67 motor, need quick questions answered

Surprised no one has said anything.. The 96 Ultra has a Series 1. The m62 is pretty much junk! If anything Save your money and pick up a Series 2 or a car with it already in it. That way you get a better trans as well (the 96 model was the last year of the 4T60e-HD) 97 and on is the improved 4T65e-HD.

We didn't say anything because the Bonneville, Park Ave., and the Riviera all had the Series II 3800 L67 in 1996. So don't point the man in the wrong direction...plus it is pretty easy to tell if it is a Series 1 or 2...they look nothing alike...engine cover or not.

true. the series II was in 1996 for the buicks.

maybe. i aint heard of to many instances of that. damn tuff blocks tho.

ive seen a stock 5.0 take a 300 shot all day long in a fox body with headers and tune and go 9's multiple times. 351w blocks are damn strong too. the 351c that came in some of the boss's from the 70's was made to rev to 9k and is a very stong block.

when ford guys opt to build motors, they tend to look for older blocks. but like said, svt does a good job holding it down. but another block than that from ford thats newer, no thanks.
