new to GP, need tranny advice

Just bought a 2001 GP SE for my wife. I don't know much about, yet. It has 84k miles and seems to have been well maintained but the previous owner told me he never changed the transmission fluid. Is it a good idea to change the fluid at this time or is it already past the point were that is no longer a good idea? Glad I found this forum.
 


yea chnage filter and flush the trans should be done every 5ok or so im a little ocd and do flushes at 25k and filter changes at 50k
 
Thanks for the replies. So 84k miles is not too many miles then? I just don't want to change the fluid then have to rebuild the thing in six months.
