Hi All. I have been a long time Bonneville owner. I have (2) 2003's. One with 150,000 and other with 192,000. I am looking at buying a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. Any advice on this vehicle? Seems like it should be a really good car. Owner has it listed as a 2008 GT but I am not sure they made GT in 2008. What is the difference between a GT and non GT?. Thanks in advance for the advice.

If you are planning on doing any modifications that require tuning, you would want to go with any year other than 2008. For 2008, Pontiac switched the Grand Prix from serial bus to can bus communications, and due to it only being a one year change, tuners have not taken the time to do the development to make it tunable.

In 2006 the GTP sub-model was dropped. 2006-2008 had a standard (non-GT) Grand Prix, a base model and a GT. The GT generally came with more features than the non-GT and base models.

Slight correction, 2006-2008 had the base (previously the GT), and the GXP(equipped with the LS4 5.3 V8. 2006-2007 had the GT (formerly the GTP). There was no supercharged variant available in 2008.
