New Tires

Hi all,

this is my first time ever posting on a forum. I own a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, and it is due for a set of new tires. I started researching and realized there are endless choices....does anyone have any suggestions on what tires I should put on my Pontiac?

Thanks

Well, since you didn’t specify what kind of driving you will be doing. I’ll give you my short list for when I need tires. And since the weather in New York state is like Wisconsin they should be worth your consideration.

:th_thumbsup-wink: Goodyear Assurance TripleTred, Goodyear Eagle GT, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

Good Luck

yeah sorry... i didnt think about including my drivin style.

most of my time spent in my car is on the highway. usually staying around the 65 mph new york speed limit mark, but sometimes the kid in me comes out and I have to let the car play a little. :th_laugh-lol2:

thanks for the help

I have run Bridgestone Potenza RE's since I bought the car over 2 years ago. I love them...quiet tires, ride great, and perform very good in any weather (has been through a few nasty snow/ice storms here in Missouri) and even cut down a 2.02 60' at the local race track one night ;)

Mine have about..hmmm...48K on them and are now about due...but if I REALLY wanted to I could probably squeeze another 5-7K out of them...

I have a 07..I got some tires I wasent really to sure about...well for one because I have never heard of them! But they are maxxis.. Here is a link MA-Z4S Victra

I got them over the summer..and so far I really like them! We have got ALOT of rain and they handle great!

I work for Discount Tire Co. There are good tires and bad tires, I've had my fair share. Currently I have Goodyear ResponsEdge tires on my 04 GTP Comp G. I had Yokohama YK520's on it before. My Goodyear tires are a fantastic handlind tires, very sharp, reinforced carbon fiber sidewall for better turning. The Yokohamas - I wasn't too thrilled with, softer tire, more sway when you jerk the wheel. Out of those two the ResponsEdge tires are fantastic. But, it truly depends on your preference. If you want a comfortable ride or better handling. The Goodyear tires are performance touring all season, so they handle fantastic in the weather also. In my opinion however, Goodyear is not the best tire out there. Michelin makes the best tire by far. I deal with them on a day to day basis and they balance out really well and are just well constructed in every aspect, as well as ride smoothly. The Michelin Pilot Sport is a fantastic performance tire that you would not regret buying, that is if you don't mind spending a little extra. Michelin's also have great mileage warranties. Nitto makes awesome tires too. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
