• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Morning boys. Figured I'd check in here... say what's up. Looks like I will soon be a proud new owner of a 1998 GTP
I've fell on a hell of a deal and can't pass it up. I've really never heard anything bad about these cars so we will see.

Ill post some pics when I get her home. In the mean time is there anything I should know of look for on it. I haven't made the purchase yet. Was told it ran but the battle.was dead. Motor turns over. Either way ill be turning wrenches on her for a few days.

Anyway. Have a good day boys

other then you typical LIM leaks, I cannot think of anything. Make sure the trans is in good shape. These motors are very strong motors and run forever (monte carlo with 308k+ w/original motor and trans). just look it over good and check the Lower intake manifold gaskets.

Cars been sitting for 8 months. Guys got in over his head on repairs and doesn't know how to put it back together. He's a close friend of a buddy of mine..not just some ad off craigslist. He's definitely not making money on the deal so I've been taking him at his word on the condition. Car seems to be decent. Was told the lower gaskets were swapped by a dealership. Car will need a cleaning brakes rotors and the rear drivers window is inop. And won't stay rolled up/falls

Windows - try cleaning the switch contacts first, especially the drivers door switch console, here's a write up on it. I did it when my driver window got stuck and they were black, cleaned them and all'
good since.

LIM's are good if there's no evidence of leaking. Otherwise, it's worth a few hundred to replace all the gaskets and clean everything while it's open (TB, SC) Plugs/Wires, Coolant, Tranny Pan drop.

I've seen my older GP eat front hubs, but that was before I got into fixing my cars once again, can't trust these Mechanics these days, lol, no offense to anyone, but I'm sure they were using the cheap stuff ;) I also saw some sad Balljoints on mine and changed the LCA's and BJ's on her... Rides like a dream now.

Welcome aboard and don't forget the pic's... we like pics!
:)

Ill get some up. I was sent 2 pics before I went to see it. Hopefully she will be in my garage in the next week. Can never have enough blower in there lol
