New Shoes for the GXP

Since I didn't like options for available matched sets for the original size tires on the GXPs, I opted to upgrade to 235/50-18s in the rear. (Thanks to all those who posted on this forum who indicated that these will work) This REALLY increases tire options. I searched lots of websites, (TireRack is a GREAT resource), read lots of reviews and finally settled on these:

Continental USA Car / Light Truck / SUV -ExtremeContact&#153 DWS

they were ranked #1 in their category and I like the tread and features. I just ordered a set and should be in early next week...thank goodness too...I can't go anywhere in the snow with the worn-out Bridgestone 760s up front!

Has anyone had any experience with these?

and what year is the vehicle? I have a 97 2 door 3.1 liter 6cyl w/137k mles. Love the car but it needs struts on back and I would like to do new springs as well.

I really want to take out the sag I see on every W style body GP I look at, and here in WIS there are a million of them still on the road. Would like to raise car maybe 1.5" in back 1" in front...

just put lowering springs on the front and be done. you dont want to raise the car and make it even more of a 4x4.
