Im from near Grand Rapids. Used to have a lake house at Houghton Lake. I have a lot of family in the UP. And no, your car will not be a lot louder as long as you keep your stock muffs and resonator.
Be careful with this. I have a high flow cat and the PCM doesn't like it. Had to have the codes tuned out and the CATALYST test will not complete. In Texas, we can only have one test show "not ready" (for cars newer than 2000). If you ever delete your EGR (which is nice as you dont have to clean your throttle body), you will be at 2 not ready's like I was. I have to reinstall the EGR every year prior to inspection.Texas does have emissions testing unlike Oklahoma so you will probably need a high flow cat so you can pass. But the added flow will be so worth it.
