• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hi all, new proud owner of a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix Base Model with 92k original miles. My very first V6, I'm in my late 20s and all I've ever driven were econobox 4 cyclinder DOHC 16 valve vehicles ;)

Welcome to the site! Plenty of info here to keep it going for many more miles. Post up some pics when you get time.

Thanks for the welcome! I'll put up some pics soon once I get the minor issues of the car all sorted out. Body interior engine and tranny are in great shape but a few minor things need attention/have been fixed

The 3800 is a step up from any type of 4 cylinder. The GP has a few issues when they get older, but you will find it is very reliable, especially with the V6. And 30+ mpg on the highway is an added bonus!

One of the good thing about the base models is (hopefully) they haven't been beaten on like many of the super charged ones.

They are good cars, pretty reliable, pretty easy to work on yourself and they get decent gas mileage. Problem areas are the tranny, the coolant elbows and rust (rockers and strut towers).

I hope you enjoy your's. My last three cars since the late 90s have all been Grand Prixs. Late 90s I purchased an 94 or 95 SE, 2007 I purchased an 04 GT (base) and Feb of 2019 I purchased an 04 GTP Comp G with only 78k on it. Racked up quite a few miles the first year when my wife's 2012 Enclave imploded and we only had one car for about 5 months.
