New on the forums w a pulley question

Hey guys new on the forums here. Have a 05 gtp, with a few mods. I was wondering if I could run a 3.4 inch pulley with everything I have, colder plugs, 180 t stat, k and N cold air, zzp headers 3" dp with an electric cutout, and a box tune and egr delete. I have a zzp full size inter cooler, but I'm waiting for my cam install to do that, because I'm having my heads custom ported and valve seats re ground and new springs, lifters, pushrods, roller rockers etc, and of course re tuned once that happens, also porting my intake manifold and my gen v when that all happens also, and then probably a new tranny afte the first time I put the hammer down after that's all back together (yes I know I need bigger injectors and all that good stuff too). But I dont want to get my knuckles all skinned up when I'll just have to take it all off in a couple months to get to my top end. Anyways I'm running a 3.6 now and some kid in an srt4 who lives around me beat me on the street the other day and said he's running 30 lbs of boost, but he only barely beat me.. (he would only go from a rolling 20 btw) I was thinking if I took a **** and took the 150 pounds of tools and had in the trunk and went down a pulley size I'd have his ass... But I'm not sure if I'd have any KR with out the extra mods. Could I drop a size? Or do I have to live with that slowpar being faster till I do all my other mods?

You MIGHT be able to get away with a 3.4. Do you have something to scan with? Such as an aeroforce or scangauge? Monitor knock and if you don't knock then you should be fine on a 3.4. Also, get a legit tune when you cam/IC. A tune specific for your car will be a lot better than a canned tune.

The canned tunes fail hard.

If you can tune yourself or find someone worth their salt you should be fine.

1. dont call that neon a slopar, the real mopar died years ago. lolol.
2. you should be able to run a 3.4 with those mods, but instead of throwing on the pulley and seeing what happens, you should invest in an aeroforce wideband gauge! itll let you scan your car and stuff to see how much knock you are producing.
3. you are going to need a tune, regardless of what you do. how did you tune for the 3.6 you have on there now?
4. take all the crap outta your trunk and run him again.

Not on a 05.

3.6 possibly. Scan first!

2. Genv = more psi's. So no.
3. Yep tune
4. easiest way to shave time is weight loss.

hes already on a 3.6.
thats why i told him to scan and if he has no knock and everything looks alright then drop a pulley.

Its cheaper to try bumping up the timing rather than spending money on a pulley.

Unless bumping the timing costs money too.

It's just a canned tune from zzp, I should have went overkill I didn't do my homework on that one, once I get my cam and I/c in and all that fun stuff I'll pay for a dyno tune. I'll have to get a scanner, do they make a gauge or KR on the fly? I shouldn't be getting any KR on my 3.6 I dug around and basically ive got all the supporting mods for a 3.6 plus headers.. Which btw anyone else notice how small the exhaust ports on your head are vs your primaries? Those ports are sooo tiny, what gains do you see out of porting? as far as the weight loss.. Anyone hear of carbon. Fiber fenders? I can make fiberglass/carbon fiber, or Kevlar pretty much anything... You think people would buy them if I put forth the time and labor making them?

Also wtf are those bars that connect your fender to your front end basically... Are they just for head on collisions because they are a pain in the dick

Yeah, do they help stiffen up the front end in any functional way besides in case of an accident... Also anyone do a manual swap? I can find info here and there about it, but no one says the price tag..

that supports the rad support which takes a huge beating from the dog bones. They're what keep the engine from moving in place instead of turning the transmission.

Oh, ok, here's a fun fact, just went out to get a cleaning kit for my air filter and a kid in a civic tried to race me an he blew his **** up! Boom! Smoke coolant everywhere. Makes me happy.

Throw that K & N in the garbage.

Oil + MAF sensor = dead MAF.

Otherwise, all my comments have been said. Scan first, and get a real tune.

Um, I have run oiled filters for about 12 years now and have NEVER killed a MAF. Don't let a few idiots on the internet who OVER OILED their filter tell you that oiled filters automatically = dead MAF.

oiled filters are just more maintanence imho. cleaning, oiling, drying vs just cleaning and drying. especially if you can find a huge AEM dryflow cone for 20 bucks shipped.
