• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

New Mod, guess what its for.

Here's what I had to do to get it to work with no leaks.

The bottle originally was leaking at these billet aluminum inserts that were epoxied in...not very good I might add.

So once they were removed (twisting and pulling) I notched the carbon fiber bottle, and cut grooves in the side of the insert so the new epoxy would have something to grab a hold to.

As an added feature, I drilled two holes in the tops of the inserts so that I can use some snap ring pliers to hold them if need be while installing or removing the fittings from the inserts.

When the plugs were removed, the old epoxy was left behind, so I removed all that from the bottle as I went. But here is an insert shown ready to go:

Once all three were out, modified, and the bottle cleaned up and modified, they were all reinstalled, using some MUCH better epoxy.

Once installed in the car, I used 4' of vacuum tube to connect the bottle to the radiator neck port. I ran it under and along side the wire bundle in the upper radiator support as the 1997's did anyway when the bottle was mounted over there from the factory.

I purposely left a "loop" in the line so that the can maybe removed to access the PCM and have plenty of slack in the line to do whats needed with no need to disconnect anything. The fitting on the side is the "vent" fitting, notice the hole drilled in it. Also aids as a inside viewing port to see fluid level.

For the fill tube, used just a 90* fitting, and a 2" extension and a end cap to close it. The cap just unscrews easily by hand.

End to end picture of the system installed:

Now I have me a bigger area to work in when changing belts or checking my power steering fluid, and plus this can holds about double as much as the newer style one I had mounted to my strut tower originally, even when filled to the "hot mark" on a cold engine, this one holds more with room for expanding fluid to fill back into it if need be.

It could easily be fabricated from aluminum yes. Perhaps in the near future. ;)

PCM tray...bought that from 3800performance.com years ago I believe.

Just need to install my new(er) PCM in it still and get rid of that ugly one.

Thats nice right there. I wanted to polish mine, but opted for painting it instead. Looks good I think, just not as shiny as being polished.

If you make them before I get my car back together, let me know.
