Have you ever had a problem with your transmission not shifting when you actually put the car into gear. Like you feel the car go into gear but it won't move. Help!

nope. i start the car like how i would. and then shift. seems likes its in nuetral but its not. i dont get it. people say it might be my transmission and other people say its the fluid. thats why im on here so i can see if other people had it happen to theirs or can simply help me.

On a cold day only? after its warmed up? all the time in 1st

it happens every once in a while. doesnt always happens when its cold. i got the car i think late october early november. and it did it then.

grr. im dreading to hear that. im crossing my fingers that its not my tranny. some guy at autozone told me it my just be a really clogged filter with low pressure. but idk. i need help from people who own a GP

they even hooked a scanner up to see if there were any codes, and there werent any. so its nothing electrical.

I would agree check the fluid yourself just to make sure, could be something as simple as the fluid but if the fluid looks fine and is up to par and full then I would bet your trans. When my trans went out, that happened, so ended up getting it rebuilt.

Ill have to talk to the place i got my car. He said to not worry about my warrenty cause he knows me. So if something ever happened/or happened to my car he would fix it. And i bought the car with the problem so he said he would fix it if it were the tranny
I hope its nothing bad. And anyone have any inout on a good kind of oil to out in. I usually put quaker stateand its givin me great gas milage.

Check fluid, dark color or burnt smell is a bad thing. Take it back to seller and make sure the warranty is in WRITING, verbal agreements with a car salesman is worth nothing. Have them scan for codes and or even suggest what they will do to remedy the situation whereas they sold a vehicle with a slipping tranny. If they will drop pan and replace fluid and filter then allow them, with the understanding that if problem persist's they will replace/rebuild tranny. If they offer any resistance be prepared to do what you must! Remember the customer is always right, lol.

Dont wait, the longer you wait, the more they can say it was something you did. Just my $.02

By the way..., welcome to the site!

Regards
:)

Does it do this in reverse too or just in drive? To properly check your trans fluid the trans needs to up to temp, meaning driven for at least 40 mins, trans takes a little longer than the engine to warm up. You also want to leave the car running when check it. How many miles in the car?

I'd have the dealer do a filter and fluid change. Tell them not to flush it because that will just make things worse. And if that doesn't fix it tell to replace the trans.

Ok
Yeah i was gonna go to him and tell him to change the fluid and filter. I just really want this fixed asap.
