New Intake on my GTP. Installed today! PLZ Look!



what the intake boosting? their not CAI, I got my cone off ebay, was killing my HP til i put it in the fenderwell, i can tell a much bigger differnce
 
I could really tell the differnce in 3rd gear for before i had this like loss of engine power...when i did the FWI, no issues, runs great...I'm guessing it was KR maybe?? I dunno I dont have a scanner...
 
I think its just the hot air coming in.

I think first gear is the best. But im on a stock PCM so I guess im having the slow pickup from the 40mph lag.
 
Just a quick question about the 04+ GP's. On the stock air box their is a second hose that taps into the intake. I'm not quite sure what i should do with this i've seen the hoses extended and pushed behind the headlight I was just wondering what is this hose and are you running a filter on in if so then what?

that hose that your talking about, i think it brings air up from the fenderwell. gives the box more fresh air. no it does not need a filter on it.
 
its a hose that comes off the back side of the air box and going to something else (air thats already been through the box if you know what im saying)
 
nah i took my air box off ages ago, if i remember correctly, it connects to nothing...dont worry about it...just un-hook the "main" hose and snatch off the box...like i said, its no biggie...
 
I made and intake this weekend and im still not sure what the hose is but i do know that its used when you first start the car up, its sucks really heavily for a good 15seconds then it stops, i think im gonna put a small filter on it.
 


aern't you guys the least bit worried about having your PCMs sitting out in the open like that when you get rid of your box and just have them ziptied there? What about the open wires that you can see inside the PCM, and the connectors? Maybe I'm the only one on here that has to deal with inclimate weather with snow and salt to ruin everything! Someone please give me an explanation.
 
As far as i have heard these PCM's are very sturdy and rarely have problems due to the weather, vibrations heat etc. They were made to stand up to the elements. With that being said you can always buy a PCM tray for extra protection.

funny u should say that, YES my PCM is zip-tied. nah man it looks fine, i have no worries on mine, personally.
 
I used 2 self-drilling screws and screwed it down to the metal under it threw 2 of the holes in the side of it.
It isn't going anywhere...

I drive my GTP year round. I probably don't get the same amount of snow that you get. But we still get our fair share. And I drive 100 miles everyday to and from work. So in the winter, my car gets dirty and salty. I have had my PCM out in the open for a couple years now, with no side effects. They are sturdy and I have never heard of anyone else having any problems either. The worst thing that happens is the aluminum gets all crappy looking. But it doesn't effect performance or operation.
 


The basic design of our PCM was used in several vehicles. The Blazer/S-10 had it sitting right out in the open (hence why we can use the Blazer PCM tray).
